Temp Mail Not Receiving Emails? Troubleshooting Guide

Fix common temporary-email delivery problems by checking the address, expiry, sender delays, disposable-domain blocks, and verification-code rules.

When a temporary inbox remains empty, the cause is usually one of five things: an address typo, an expired inbox, a sender delay, a disposable-domain block, or a message that was never sent. Use this sequence to find the cause without creating more confusion.

1. Verify the complete address

Compare the address character by character, including the domain after the @ symbol. Copy and paste is safer than typing. If the external website displays the submitted address, confirm it matches the active inbox exactly.

2. Check the countdown

An expired inbox cannot accept or display new messages. If time ran out before the sender delivered, create a new address and repeat the action once. Do not send new messages to the expired address.

3. Refresh and allow for delay

Press Refresh once and wait a few minutes. Transactional email queues can slow down, especially during service incidents. Repeatedly clicking resend can create several messages, invalidate old verification links or activate anti-abuse controls.

4. Look for a sender-side warning

Some websites clearly state that disposable email is not accepted; others reject it silently. The sender may also require an existing account, completed CAPTCHA or another step before mail is created. Review the page for an error instead of assuming the inbox failed.

5. Request one new message

If the address is correct, active and accepted, request one replacement after the delay. Use the newest code or link because many systems invalidate earlier requests. If it still fails, use a permitted durable address and contact the sender—not the mailbox provider—for account-specific delivery support.

What the inbox cannot control

A receiving service cannot force another company to send mail or remove that company's disposable-domain policy. It also cannot recover a message addressed incorrectly or delivered after expiration. Troubleshooting works best when you separate sender behavior from inbox availability.

Frequently asked questions

Why does Refresh show nothing?

The sender may not have sent the message yet, may be delayed, or may block the domain.

Will generating a new address bring the old message?

No. Each address is a separate inbox.

Why did the first link stop working?

Requesting another verification message may invalidate the earlier link.
